UT Health San Antonio is the academic health science center of The University of Texas at San Antonio, with schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, health professions and biomedical sciences, plus clinical practices, the Mays Cancer Center and a research hospital. Chartered in 1959 as the South Texas Medical School, it merged with UTSA in September 2025 and now operates as the merged university's Health Science Center.
